The Nikola Tesla Medal received by professor Ion Boldea

In 2015, professor Ion Boldea, IEEE Life Fellow, from University Politehnica of Timișoara, has received the Nikola Tesla medal.

OCA received by IEEE-PES Romania Chapter

In 2006, IEEE-PES Romania Chapter receives the Outstanding Chapter Award from IEEE PES for the small chapters category (<100 members), after being awarded the runner-up one year earlier. In 2008, PES has changed its name from “Power Engineering Society” into “Power & Energy Society”.

First Prize at IEEE CSIDC received by students from UPB

In 2002, the Romania team consisting of Vlad Panait, Mihai Mircea and Tiberius Parcalabu, from University Politehnica of Bucharest (UPB), under the mentorship of professor Nicolae Țăpuș, has received the First Prize at the IEEE Computer Society International Design Competition with the project BE Secure: Building Surveillance Equipment.
